Introduction
Japan, Saitama Prefecture, Moroyama. Produced by Asahara Shuzo, a brewery founded in 1882 that has long been celebrated for cultivating the high quality Katsuragi yuzu since the Nara period. The brewery operates with a philosophy of maintaining deep ties to the local agricultural community and preserving the natural spiciness and fragrance of Japanese citrus in its products.
Description
This premium fruit wine possesses a vibrant, pale straw colour. The aroma is complex and intense, featuring a rare blend of lime, lemon, and grapefruit with distinct floral overtones. On the palate, it delivers a refreshing and tangy acidity balanced by the mellow sweetness of yuzu zest and notes of mandarin orange. The body is light and crisp, leading to a clean, citrus driven finish that is both elegant and zesty. ABV 8%.
Food Pairing
The tangy acidity and bright citrus profile make this wine an excellent accompaniment to fresh seafood, particularly sashimi, poached fish, and seafood pasta. It also serves as a delightful dessert wine when paired with vanilla cake or fruit based sweets like apple tarts. For a savory contrast, it can be served chilled or on the rocks alongside fresh garden salads and spicy Asian cuisine.
