Nakano Kunizakari Saika Daiginjo Sake - 720 ml
Nakano Kunizakari Saika Daiginjo originates from Handa City in the Aichi Prefecture of Japan. The Nakano Sake Brewery was established in 1844 and has been managed by the Nakano family for over 180 years. Currently led by President Masami Nakano, the brewery is known for its philosophy of 'creating a rich food culture through Japanese sake' and its ability to blend Edo-period traditions with cutting-edge brewing technology.
Description
This Daiginjo is clear in appearance and is brewed using 'Ginpu' rice from Hokkaido, which is polished down to 50%. The aromatic profile is elegantly dry, featuring a bouquet of wild grape, white lily, and field flowers. On the palate, it offers a silky and smooth texture with notes of lychee, green apple, melon, and hints of honey and guava. It is characterized by a refined body, nice acidity, and a crisp, lingering finish. The alcohol content is 15% to 15.5%.
Food Pairing
The elegant fruit notes and dry profile of Saika Daiginjo make it an ideal companion for delicate seafood and light Western fare. It pairs exceptionally well with grilled prawns, scallops in cream, and fatty tuna sashimi or nigiri. Its balanced acidity also complements chicken yakisoba, vegetable tempura, and fresh fruit salads. For a Western-style match, consider serving it alongside mild cheeses or a zesty melon and cucumber salad to highlight its floral top notes.
