Aizu Homare Yuzu - 720 ml

Aizu Homare Yuzu - 720 ml

THomare Sake Brewery Co., Ltd. was established in 1918 and is currently managed by the fourth generation of the Karahashi family. The brewery is renowned for its innovative approach, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern scientific analysis to produce a diverse range of approximately thirty different products.

Description

This yuzushu is a fusion of junmai sake and 100% Japanese yuzu fruit juice. It presents an aromatic profile rich with the scent of fresh citrus and essential oils from the yuzu skin. On the palate, the junmai sake base provides a soft, smooth texture that balances the natural tartness and sweetness of the fruit. The taste is often compared to an Italian limoncello, featuring juicy citrus up front followed by a refreshing lime and grapefruit-like acidity. It has an alcohol content of approximately 10% to 11%.

Food Pairing

The vibrant acidity and citrus character of this yuzu sake make it an ideal aperitif or a refreshing accompaniment to fruit-based desserts. It pairs exceptionally well with Japanese staples such as sushi, karaage, and tempura, where the citrus helps cut through oily textures. For Western-style pairings, it complements Caesar salads, creamy dips, or steamed shellfish like mussels and clams. It is best served chilled, on the rocks, or mixed with soda water to enhance its refreshing qualities.
