This is the first wine to display any appreciable amount of reduction; in this case, it's enough to mask the underlying fruit. Otherwise, the racy and almost painfully intense middle-weight flavours exude a bracing minerality that adds a sense of lift to the lemony and more complex finale. This is always one of Latour's better wines, simply outstanding.
