Querciabella Camartina Igt Toscana

Querciabella Camartina Igt Toscana

Produced in the heart of Chianti Classico in Greve in Chianti, Italy, the Querciabella Camartina is a premier Toscana IGT. Since its first vintage in 1981, this 'Super Tuscan' has been crafted from high altitude vineyards in Ruffoli, where the estate has practiced organic viticulture since 1988 and plant-based biodynamics since 2000. The winemaking philosophy emphasizes sustainability and a vegan approach, ensuring each limited bottling reflects the unique galestro and sandstone soils of the Greve hillside.

Wine Description

This structured red typically presents an intense ruby red colour with violet reflections. The complex sensory profile features a broad bouquet of black currant, blackberry, and plum, layered with Mediterranean herbs, leather, and floral notes of dried violet. On the palate, the wine is full bodied and polished, showcasing pithy, well-integrated tannins, a lively acidity, and a long finish marked by notes of graphite and sweet tobacco. Composed of approximately 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Sangiovese, it is matured for 18 months in French oak barrels followed by 12 months in the bottle before release. While approachable after 6–7 years, it has an extraordinary aging potential of 20 years or more.
