Produttori del Barbaresco - Barbaresco 2022
The Produttori del Barbaresco is a prestigious cooperative winery located in the Barbaresco region of Piedmont, Italy. Founded in 1958 by the local priest, Don Fiorino Marengo, it was created to unite small growers and ensure the continued production of high-quality Nebbiolo. Today, the cooperative comprises over 50 member families who collectively manage approximately 250 acres of premium vineyards, maintaining a philosophy dedicated solely to the expression of the Nebbiolo grape.
Wine Description
The Barbaresco presents a jewelled red colour and an expressive, heady aromatic profile of ripe raspberry liqueur, fresh cherries, sweet herbs, and pressed flowers. On the palate, this medium-bodied wine reveals considerable depth with notes of dark cherry, plum, cloves, and a touch of mocha. It is texturally resonant, featuring a 'broader, rounder shoulder' than previous vintages, balanced by juicy acidity and ripe, firm tannins that lead to a clean, persistent finish.
Accolades
Jeb Dunnuck - 95 Poinst
James Suckling – 94 points
Vinous – 93 points
Food Pairing
This versatile Nebbiolo pairs exceptionally well with classic Piedmontese dishes such as tajarin with meat sauce, mushroom risotto, or truffle-infused pastas. It also complements richer proteins like duck ragù or roasted veal, as its bright acidity and tannins cut through the fat of the meat.
