Introduction

Hailing from the renowned Kakheti region of Georgia, this dry red wine is produced by the Mildiani Family Winery, which was established in 1991 by four brothers—Eldari, Levani, Leri, and Pridoni. The winery is situated in the Tsinandali microzone, where the brothers have integrated ancient Georgian traditions with modern winemaking technology to help revitalize the country’s post-Soviet viticulture. Their philosophy focuses on maintaining a 'special attitude' toward every stage of production, ensuring full control over their estate-owned vineyards to produce authentic expressions of native Georgian varietals.

Wine Description

The Saperavi is a deeply pigmented wine, presenting an intense dark ruby colour with cherry hues. It offers a pronounced varietal aroma characterized by ripe red fruits, dark sweet cherry, and black currant, complemented by subtle nuances of forest floor and aromatic herbs. On the palate, the wine is full bodied and rich, featuring high, biting tannins and a vibrant acidity level that is higher than average. Stylistic notes of prune, pomegranate, and smoky hints provide complexity, leading into a long, persistent finish. This Saperavi is approachable now but possesses the structure to be cellared for up to eight years.
