Francois Mikulski Saint-Aubin Blanc 2023

Francois Mikulski Saint-Aubin Blanc 2023

Introduction

This dry white wine originates from France, produced in the Saint Aubin appellation of the Côte de Beaune region in Burgundy. Domaine François Mikulski was established in 1992 by François Mikulski after he inherited plots in Meursault from his uncle, Pierre Boillot. The winery's philosophy is rooted in a pursuit of authenticity, purity, and elegance, achieved through meticulous biological balance in the vineyard and terroir minded ageing practices that typically limit new oak use to about 20% to avoid masking the wine's natural expression.

Wine Description

The François Mikulski Saint Aubin Blanc presents a luminous, translucent light gold robe with subtle green highlights. The nose is delicate and fresh, offering aromas of white fruits such as Comice pear and white peach, alongside hints of vanilla, soft spices, and a precise limestone minerality that provides verticality. On the palate, the wine is extremely juicy and well fruited, featuring notes of golden apple, mandarin, and grape jelly, integrated with a strong empyreumatic element and peppery tones. It is characterized by its medium body, upright structure, and a powerful, long lasting finish. This 100% Chardonnay is sourced from a small 0.1868 hectare plot originally planted with Pinot Noir in 1993 and overgrafted in 2008. The ABV is typically around 12.5% to 13.0%. While the vineyard is cultivated using non-certified organic farming methods, it is often described as practicing organic.
