Domaine Boigey Freres Vosne Romanee 'Aux Jachees' 2021 - 1.5 Litre Bottle

Domaine Boigey Freres Vosne Romanee 'Aux Jachees' 2021 - 1.5 Litre Bottle

Introduction

This red wine originates from France, specifically from the village of Vosne-Romanée in the Côte de Nuits subregion of Burgundy. Domaine Boigey Frères is a rising star in the region, founded in 2017 by brothers Guillaume and Olivier Boigey, who hail from one of the village's oldest winemaking families. The estate's philosophy is centred on recovering family vineyards that were previously leased to others, employing sustainable viticulture to produce limited-quantity wines that prioritizes terroir quality and fruit purity. The 'Les Jachées' parcel is particularly significant as it is situated just behind the renowned vines of Domaine Bizot.

Wine Description

Domaine Boigey Frères Vosne-Romanée 'Les Jachées' 2021 displays a medium light red colour. The nose is highly perfumed and "transparent," offering a bouquet of lifted crushed strawberries and wilted rose petals layered with floral scents and mild spice. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with a poised, elegant structure and filigree tannins. It is characterized by its sapid nature and balanced acidity, finishing with a discrete pinch of cracked black pepper and medium length. This 100% Pinot Noir typically has an ABV of 13% and underwent maceration for 7 to 9 days without stems before being aged for 12 to 16 months in French oak barrels (30% to 50% new). While not certified organic, the estate uses organic treatments in the vineyard and is in the process of obtaining High Environmental Value (HVE) certification. The optimal drinking window is estimated from 2024 through 2036.
