This expressive red wine originates from the rugged and prestigious Priorat DOCa in Catalonia, Spain, specifically from the village of Gratallops, the spiritual heart of the region. Produced by Clos Figueras, the estate owned by celebrated wine importer Christopher Cannan, this wine serves as the "Second Vin" to the flagship Clos Figueras. The estate was purchased in 1997 on the recommendation of René Barbier (of Clos Mogador fame), who recognized the potential of the site's old vines. Named "Font de la Figuera" after a wild fig tree that grows by a natural spring on the property, this wine is designed to be approachable and vibrant earlier than the Grand Vin.
