Aurore Bachelet Pommard Pinot Noir 2021

Aurore Bachelet Pommard Pinot Noir 2021

Introduction

This elegant Pinot Noir originates from France, specifically the Burgundy region. The specific appellation (subregion) is Pommard, a village in the Côte de Beaune renowned for its robust and deep-structured red wines. Aurore Bachelet, a graduate of business school, returned to her Burgundian roots, receiving training in viticulture and oenology and working alongside her father, Vincent, for five years. The domain is situated in Santenay, in the southern part of the Côte de Beaune, and follows a winemaking philosophy that is as non-interventionist as possible, aiming to preserve the authenticity and identity of the region's classic varietals.

Wine Description

The Aurore Bachelet Pommard 2021 showcases a vivid, clear red color. The wine offers delicate aromas of red currant and cherry, with spices that are expected to develop further with age. On the palate, the wine is lively and balanced, presenting fine tannins and an overall elegant and refined profile. This wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir grown on 55-year-old vines in clay-limestone soils. Following manual harvesting, the wine undergoes cold pre-fermentation maceration and fermentation in vats for 15 days. It is then aged for 12 months in oak barrels, followed by 5 months in stainless steel tanks. While ready to be enjoyed now, it has the potential to age for several more years in a cellar.
