Highland Park 15 Year Old 'Viking Heart'

Highland Park 15 Year Old Viking Heart is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Orkney Islands, a region known for its unique Scandi Scottish heritage. The distillery was founded in 1798 by Magnus Eunson, who was famously a butcher and church official by day and an illicit distiller by night. Today, the distillery is owned by Edrington and remains one of the few in Scotland to continue using traditional floor maltings for a portion of its production.

Spirit Description

This expression is matured in a combination of first fill sherry seasoned European oak casks, which contribute warm spicy notes, and first fill sherry seasoned American oak casks that provide sweet vanilla. A small proportion of refill casks is added to the marriage to soften the profile and allow the distillery's signature heathery peat smoke to remain present.

• Colour: The whisky possesses a rich, 100% natural golden amber hue.

• Aroma: The nose is rich and spicy with scents of crème brûlée, heather honey, and crumbled cinnamon, followed by fresh pineapple and lemon zest.

• Palate: It delivers a creamy mouthfeel with notes of freshly baked sponge cake, warm vanilla, and toasted shards of cinnamon, balanced by zesty citrus.

• Body: This single malt is multifaceted and full bodied, offering a complex yet balanced texture.

• Finish: The finish is mellow and medium in length, characterized by lingering waves of aromatic peat smoke, delicate vanilla, and toasty spice.

• ABV: Highland Park 15 Year Old Viking Heart is bottled at 44%.
