Tignanello 2020 (by Tenuta Tignanello)
Produced in Italy, Tignanello originates from the renowned Tenuta Tignanello estate within the Chianti Classico region of Tuscany. Owned by the historic Marchesi Antinori family, whose winemaking heritage dates back to 1385, the estate is celebrated for its limestone-rich soils and innovative philosophy. Tignanello holds a significant place in viticulture history as the first Sangiovese-based wine to be aged in barriques and one of the first red wines in the region produced without white grapes.
Wine Description
This vintage displays an intense ruby red colour, leading to a complex sensory profile. The nose is expressive, featuring fresh notes of red fruit, cherries, and berries, accented by floral hints of lavender, mallow, and violets, alongside sweet aromas of white chocolate and roasted coffee. On the palate, the wine is vibrant and mouth filling with a layered texture, showcasing silky, supple tannins and a well-balanced acidity. The finish is remarkably long and persistent, echoing notes of cocoa powder, liquorice, and spicy white pepper.
