Superflux Colour & Shape IPA 473 ml - 24 Cans

Superflux Colour & Shape IPA 473 ml - 24 Cans

Colour & Shape is the definitive flagship of Vancouver’s Superflux Beer Company and arguably one of the beers that defined the New England IPA (NEIPA) movement in Western Canada. When people talk about "Superflux," this is usually the beer they are holding. It is designed to be an unapologetic "juice bomb"—a thick, opaque, and highly aromatic ale that prioritizes hop flavor and creamy texture over traditional bitterness.

Beer Description

This NEIPA pours a dense, completely opaque glowing orange—often likened to mango juice—with a thick, pillowy white head and very soft carbonation.

Aroma: It features an intense, "saturated" nose of tropical fruit. Expect a massive bouquet of ripe pineapple, fuzzy peach, and sweet clementine, with a subtle, creamy vanilla-like undertone that comes from the specific yeast and grain interaction.

Palate: On the tongue, it is famously full-bodied with a "chewy," velvety mouthfeel. It leads with a lush sweetness of tropical stone fruit and citrus pulp. Unlike a West Coast IPA, the bitterness is almost non-existent; it is soft, rounded, and "juicy" from start to finish, leaving a smooth, fruity coating on the palate.

Profile: It has a robust ABV of 6.5% and very low perceived bitterness, making it incredibly easy to drink despite its density and strength.

Technical Notes: This beer is a masterclass in hop-loading. It is brewed with a massive amount of Citra hops used exclusively in the whirlpool and dry-hop stages to extract essential oils without the harsh alpha-acid bitterness. The grist includes a heavy proportion of flaked oats and wheat, which provides the high protein content necessary for its signature permanent haze and silky, creamy texture.
