Penfolds Chardonnay Reserve Bin 22A 2022

Penfolds Chardonnay Reserve Bin 22A 2022

Australia’s most iconic producer, Penfolds, was founded in 1844 and has become synonymous with innovation and excellence in winemaking. The Reserve Bin A Chardonnay is sourced exclusively from the cool-climate vineyards of Adelaide Hills, a region celebrated for its refined, elegant Chardonnays. Since its debut in 1992, the Bin A series has set the benchmark for site-expressive Australian Chardonnay.

Wine Description
This Chardonnay shows a pale straw colour with green hues. On the nose, it opens with aromas of white nectarine, Granny Smith apple, citrus zest, cashew, nougat, and subtle flinty notes. The palate is taut and vibrant, delivering flavours of white peach, lime, poached pear, and mineral undertones, balanced by a creamy texture from malolactic fermentation and time on lees. French oak maturation contributes layers of almond meal, nougat, and roasted pistachio.

Accolades

  • Decanter – 96 points

Food Pairing
This expressive Chardonnay pairs beautifully with butter-poached lobster, roast chicken with herbs, or creamy mushroom risotto. The wine’s acidity also complements fresh oysters and delicate seafood dishes.
