Mezzacorona Dinotte Red Blend Dolomiti 2022
Mezzacorona, a major wine cooperative, was initially established by 13 members in 1904 as the 'Cantina Sociale di Mezzocorona'. Over the centuries, generations of families have dedicated themselves to sustainable grape cultivation, preserving the territory's integrity. Based at the foot of the Italian Dolomites, the winery manages approximately 2,600 hectares of Trentino vines, selecting optimal sites for the various grape varieties they grow.
Wine Description
The Dinotte Red Blend is a harmonious fusion of indigenous Teroldego and Marzemino grapes, balanced by the international varietal Merlot. The Teroldego provides a full-bodied structure with profound flavours of 'red currants, blackberry, and blueberry'. The Marzemino contributes a pleasant, 'juicy character' that results in a 'soft, velvety, palate pleasing wine'. Finally, Merlot rounds out the blend with aromatic notes of 'vanilla and cocoa'. This wine is described as 'fruit-forward and supple on the entry,' offering a silky texture, ripe tannins, and well-integrated acidity that contribute to a harmonious and rounded profile.
Food Pairing
Suggested pairings for this red blend include hearty appetizers, baked pastas, savoury sauces, and spicy cuisine.
