Lost Lore Reposado Tequila
Lost Lore Reposado is a meticulously crafted, small-batch tequila produced at the celebrated Feliciano Vivanco y Asociados (NOM 1414) in Arandas, Jalisco. Under the guidance of Master Distiller Sergio Cruz, this expression is designed to bridge the gap between the vibrant energy of their Highland blanco and the deep wood influence of their añejo. Like the rest of the portfolio, it utilizes the "Mozart Method," where classical music is played during the fermentation process to optimize yeast activity, resulting in a remarkably balanced and "honest" profile.
Spirit Description
The Reposado is aged for up to 12 months in used American white oak whiskey barrels. This extensive resting period—near the legal limit for a reposado—results in a light amber liquid that remains agave-forward while gaining a sophisticated "whiskey-adjacent" creaminess.
Nose: Inviting and complex. It opens with sweet cooked agave and bright citrus, layered with vanilla bean, warm caramel, and a touch of toasted almond. Hints of cinnamon and light baking spices weave through a subtle earthy minerality.
Palate: Full-bodied and satiny. The entry is dominated by roasted agave sweetness, followed by a mid-palate of butterscotch, honey, and black pepper. The whiskey barrel influence provides gentle notes of oak and chocolate without masking the spirit’s Highland roots.
Finish: Long and warming. It leaves a clean impression of oak tannin and spice that gradually recedes into a soft vanilla echo and a final whisper of mint. It is bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) and is certified additive-free by Tequila Matchmaker (2024-2026).
