Liquidity Pinot Noir 2022

Liquidity Pinot Noir 2022

Introduction

Liquidity Pinot Noir 2022 is an elegant red wine from the Okanagan Falls subregion of the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, Canada. The winery, established as a modern destination in the heart of Okanagan Falls, was acquired in 2020 by Anthony von Mandl and is now a member of the Iconic Wineries of British Columbia. Liquidity is renowned for its artisan approach and its unique location, sharing borders with esteemed neighbours such as Blue Mountain and Noble Ridge. The estate winemaking philosophy, led by New Zealand born winemaker Amy Paynter, focuses on creating site expressive wines that highlight the cool climate synergy between Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Wine Description

This medium bodied Pinot Noir presents a sensory profile defined by both elegance and terroir driven complexity. The nose offers vibrant aromas of red berry fruit, red cherry, and raspberry, layered with black cherry, thyme, and earthy notes of beetroot and gravel. On the palate, the wine is silky and refined, featuring flavours of black currant and blackberry complemented by subtle baking spices, cola, and a hint of vanilla. Stylistically, it showcases a balance of fruit forward intensity and delicate floral nuances, leading to a long, persistent finish. While varietal composition is 100% Pinot Noir, the estate also produces a Reserve tier which utilizes specific Burgundy clones such as 667 and 115 to add further rich texture and savoury depth. The wine typically has an ABV of 13.0% to 13.5%. Notably, as of the 2020 vintage, Liquidity Wines and its vineyards are certified organic, forming part of the largest organically farmed vineyard group in North America.
