Helios Distillery Kura 'The Whisky' Sherry Cask Finish

This is a pure malt whisky finished in Oloroso sherry casks. The whisky is initially aged in American White Oak. It is noted that the whisky used is imported Scotch malt whisky.

• Aroma: Complex aromas of dark berries, finishing on dried apricot and vanilla. Other notes include apricot and light fruit notes with malt and spice.

• Palate: Smooth and creamy with flavours of fig, raisin, and cinnamon. It is soft with good sweetness and winter spice. Other descriptors include rich notes of vanilla and chocolate, sherried fruit, caramel, toasted oak, and spice. Some tasting notes indicate bitter dark chocolate.

• Body: Smooth and full bodied.

• Finish: Long and lingering, with sweetness of chocolate and sherry dominating. Other notes describe a long, spicy, and smooth finish or a medium length finish with lasting bitter chocolate and a slight woody astringency. A gentle woodiness and smoky taste are also present.
