Guigal Tavel Rose 2022

Guigal Tavel Rose 2022

Introduction

E. Guigal Tavel Rose is a premium pink wine from the Tavel AOC, the only appellation in France dedicated solely to the production of rosé. The Guigal family has been selecting and blending wines from Tavel since 1942, and their commitment to the region was further solidified with the 2022 acquisition of the historic Château d'Aqueria. The estate's winemaking philosophy focuses on low yields and minimal intervention to produce robust, structured rosés that reflect the red wine personality of the Southern Rhône.

Wine Description

This wine presents a pure and deep salmon pink colour. The sensory profile is elegant and complex, featuring a nose of bright cherries, framboise, and subtle floral notes. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with a round, layered texture and flavours of red plum, watermelon, and smoked cherry. The wine is well-structured with prominent tannins and a balanced acidity that leads to a long, mineral-driven finish. Composed of 60% Grenache, 15% Cinsault, 10% Clairette, 10% Syrah, and 5% other local varieties, it was matured exclusively in stainless steel tanks for six months to preserve its aromatic finesse.
