Gray Monk Chardonnay Unwooded 2025
The Gray Monk Chardonnay Unwooded 2025 originates from the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, Canada. Established in 1972 by George and Trudy Heiss, the winery is a pioneer of the British Columbia estate winery program and is now owned and operated by Andrew Peller Limited. The estate features 75 acres of vineyards overlooking Okanagan Lake, maintaining a winemaking philosophy focused on pure fruit expression and cool-climate excellence.
Wine Description
This unwooded Chardonnay is clear and bright, displaying a straw yellow hue. A clean, fresh aroma of yellow apple, Bartlett pear, golden kiwi, and quince rises from the glass. This smooth yet refreshing, medium bodied wine offers a medley of orchard fruit and melon flavours on the palate. Notes of citrus (lemon and lime), apple, and pear linger on the finish.
Food Pairing
This wine pairs exceptionally well with roasted chicken, mushroom quiche, or poached salmon. It is also a wonderful match for creamy potato salad and soft cheeses like Brie.
