Giodo Brunello di Montalcino 2018

Giodo Brunello di Montalcino 2018

The Giodo estate was established in 2000 by Carlo Ferrini, one of Italy’s most renowned winemakers known for his extensive research on Sangiovese clones. The winery's name, 'Giodo,' is a combination of his parents’ names, Giovanna and Donatello. The winemaking philosophy is rooted in meticulous attention and dedication at every stage, from the vineyard to maturation, with the goal of achieving 'elegance, elegance, elegance' in the final wine. The estate is currently managed by Carlo Ferrini and his daughter, Bianca.

Wine Description

The Giodo Brunello di Montalcino 2018 is a brilliant, medium-dense ruby-garnet colour. It is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes. The wine offers a complex and elegant aromatic profile, presenting ripe but delicate notes of cassis and dark cherry, with nuances of lilac, violet, and crushed limestone. Further aromas include hints of Moroccan leather, cranberry, fresh pepper leaf, and blood orange peel. On the palate, it is velvety, intense, and complex, with a medium to full body. The flavours echo the aromas with red and dark blue fruit, black cherry, and a wonderfully juicy presence.
