Erath Pinot Noir 2022

Erath Pinot Noir 2022

The Erath Pinot Noir originates from Oregon, United States, drawing fruit from the Willamette, Umpqua, and Rogue Valleys. Founded by Dick Erath in 1968, the winery is a pioneer of the Oregon wine community and was instrumental in establishing the Dundee Hills as a world-class growing region. Now owned by Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, Erath remains committed to a winemaking philosophy that prioritizes balance, fruit-forward expressions, and authentic connections to the land.

Wine Description

This vintage presents a transparent medium ruby or pale garnet appearance in the glass. The nose is explosively aromatic, offering a primary bouquet of ripe red berries, crushed flowers, and forest spice, with specific notes of cranberry, sour cherry, and warming nutmeg. On the palate, the wine is light to medium-bodied and straightforward, featuring crunchy red fruit flavours like black cherry and pomegranate accented by an herbal riff of cut leaf tobacco. It is well-balanced with refreshing acidity and firm, 'furry' tannins that lead into a long, spicy, and clean finish.

Food Pairing

This wine's bright acidity and supple structure allow for versatile pairings with various dishes. It matches exceptionally well with roasted poultry, such as chicken or turkey, as well as earthy vegetarian options like mushroom risotto or roasted red peppers.
