Chateau Ste Michelle Eroica Riesling 2022
This high-altitude and expressive white wine originates from the Columbia Valley in Washington State, USA. Eroica is a groundbreaking collaboration between two of the world’s most renowned Riesling producers: Château Ste. Michelle and Germany's Dr. Loosen (Erni Loosen). Since its debut in 1999, the winery's philosophy has been to "shatter the myth" that Riesling must be sweet, instead focusing on an Old World-style dry complexity combined with Washington’s vibrant New World fruit.
Wine Description
The Chateau Ste. Michelle & Dr. Loosen Eroica Riesling 2022 presents a bright, pale straw colour. The sensory profile is exceptionally fresh and aromatic, featuring a bouquet of white peach, lime zest, and mandarin orange, layered with delicate notes of sweet clover and orange blossom. On the palate, the wine is light-bodied and crisp, showcasing a "racy" acidity and a distinct mineral energy that reflects the region's volcanic soils. It is characterized by its remarkable balance and a clean, refreshing finish with subtle hints of wet stone and slate. This 100% Riesling has an ABV of 12% and a low residual sugar level (approx. 1.3%), placing it in the medium-dry category. The wine is fermented in stainless steel at cool temperatures to preserve its pure fruit character.
