Produced in the prestigious Margaux appellation of Bordeaux, France, this first growth ('Premier Cru Classé') represents centuries of winemaking excellence. Originally discovered in the 12th century, the estate was purchased by André Mentzelopoulos in 1977 and is currently managed by his daughter, Corinne Mentzelopoulos. The winery's philosophy focuses on a rigorous selection process and a commitment to expressing the unique, elegant character of its historic terroir.

Wine Description

Chateau Margaux 2007 presents a bright, dark red to ruby colour in the glass. The bouquet is complex and aristocratic, featuring a fragrant blend of blackberry, redcurrant, and sweet cherry, accented by notes of spring flowers, incense, iris, and subtle tobacco. On the palate, the wine is suave and seamless with a light to medium body, offering vibrant flavours of cassis and black cherry supported by incredibly fine, noble tannins and fresh acidity. The finish is long and sweet with a characteristic menthol grip. This blend typically consists of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc. While approachable now with decanting, its sophisticated structure suggests an optimal drinking window extending through 2043.
