Chateau La Conseillante 2021

Chateau La Conseillante is situated in the prestigious Pomerol appellation of Bordeaux, France, bordering Saint Emilion. The estate has been under the continuous ownership of the Nicolas family since 1871. Under the direction of winemaker Marielle Cazaux, the winery maintains a philosophy of precision and 'parcellaire' management, utilizing a state-of-the-art circular vat room to preserve the unique expression of its 18 distinct vineyard parcels.

Wine Description

This wine presents a medium to deep garnet-purple colour. The aromatic profile is highly complex, leaping from the glass with scents of black raspberries, mulberries, and wild blueberries, layered with violets, rose petals, and exotic spices. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and suave, displaying a velvety texture and a vibrant core of red and blue fruits. It is framed by ultra-refined, silky tannins and a refreshing spine of acidity that leads to a long, perfumed finish with hints of graphite and black truffle.

Accolades

  • "James Suckling - 96 points."

  • "Decanter - 96 points."

  • "Vinous - 96 points."

  • "Wine Advocate - 95 points."

Food Pairing

The elegant structure and vibrant fruit of this Pomerol make it an excellent companion for roasted duck with a light spice rub or herb-crusted rack of lamb. It also pairs beautifully with earthy dishes featuring truffles or cep mushrooms, as well as fine cheeses such as mild goat cheese.
