Introduction
Casa Maestri 'Single Estate' Reserva de MFM Añejo Tequila originates from the Tequila Valley in Jalisco, Mexico. The distillery, officially known as Destiladora del Valle de Tequila, was founded in 2008 by Michael and Celia Maestri, who moved from Houston, Texas, to pursue their dream of creating ultra smooth tequila. Operating under a philosophy that merges tradition with innovation, the family run distillery is notable for being led by a team that is 90% women and is recognized as one of the fastest growing premium tequila producers in the world.
Spirit Description
This premium Añejo is crafted from 100% Tequilana Weber blue agave that is aged for seven years before being harvested from single estate fields. The agave is cooked in traditional stone/brick ovens and distilled twice in small batch pot stills to ensure authentic character.
Color: The spirit presents a brilliant copper gold or deep golden hue, a natural result of its extensive aging process.
Aroma: The nose is complex and inviting, featuring intense sweetness with scents of honey, caramel sauce, and maple syrup. These are layered with notes of medium oak wood, vanilla, raisins, and a faint hint of citrus.
Palate: It delivers an exceptionally smooth and full bodied mouthfeel. Dominant flavours include rich cooked agave, butterscotch, and pralines, complemented by nuances of cinnamon coffee cake, honey, and a hint of melon.
Finish: The finish is long and warming, characterized by lingering sweetness, spicy dryness, and echoes of smoky caramel and dark chocolate.
Aged for a minimum of 14 to 16 months in American white oak bourbon barrels, this tequila achieves a sophisticated balance between vibrant agave notes and rich barrel characteristics.
