Bindi Sergardi Chianti Classico Riserva 2020
Introduction
Bindi Sergardi is a historic estate located in Tuscany, Italy, with roots in the Siena region dating back to 1349. For 23 generations, the family has dedicated itself to winemaking, guided by a philosophy that balances ancient traditions with the evolution of their territory. The 'Calidonia' Chianti Classico Riserva is produced at the Tenuta Mocenni estate, situated on rocky soils of Alberese and Galestro that impart a distinct sense of place to their wines.
Wine Description
This 2020 Riserva presents an intense ruby red colour with garnet highlights. The sensory profile is complex, featuring a bouquet of black cherry, red plum, and currant layered with floral notes of rose petals and violet, alongside deeper accents of incense, leather, and spice. On the palate, the wine is full bodied and well structured, showing graceful, silky tannins and a vibrant acidity that leads to a long, persistent finish with notes of earthy minerality and dried herbs. Composed of 100% Sangiovese grapes, it offers a refined balance between fruit density and savory complexity. This vintage is drinking beautifully now but possesses the structure for development through 2030.
