Berta Distillery Bric del Gaian Grappa di Moscato - 700 ml

Berta Distillery Bric del Gaian Grappa di Moscato - 700 ml

Bric del Gaian is a premium aged grappa produced in Italy, within the Monferrato area of the Piedmont region. It is crafted by Distillerie Berta, a family owned business founded in 1947 by Paolo Berta, whose family history in viticulture dates back to 1866. The spirit is dedicated to 'Mr Galliano', a kind man who once owned the Moscato vineyard adjacent to the Berta farmhouse, a hill locally known as 'Bric del Gaian'. Today, the distillery is managed by the second generation, Enrico and Gianfranco Berta, who maintain artisanal traditions while exporting to over 60 countries.

Description

This vintage grappa is made exclusively from selected Moscato grape pomace sourced from the best producers in typical Piedmontese production zones. It is distilled using a discontinuous copper steam boiler system and aged for at least eight years in various wooden barrels to refine its character.

  • Colour: The spirit presents a fine amber appearance.

  • Aroma: The bouquet is complex and enveloping, featuring notes of clary sage, wild berries, grapefruit, and vanilla, with some vintages displaying floral hints of white roses and apricot.

  • Palate: It offers a rich, silky texture that is both velvety and enveloping on the tongue.

  • Body: The profile is described as compact and dense with an outstanding personality.

  • Finish: The experience concludes with a long lasting and persistent finish that lingers gracefully.

  • ABV: This grappa is typically bottled at 43%.
