Introduction

Bepi Tosolini Grappa Distillery Edition - Barrique Ex-Sherry is a top quality artisanal spirit from Italy, specifically produced in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. The distillery was founded in 1943 by Bepi Tosolini, a visionary who transformed grappa from a rustic spirit for labourers into a refined distillate celebrated by connoisseurs. Today, the business remains a family owned luxury house located in Povoletto, near Udine, and is currently managed by the founder's grandchildren, Giuseppe, Bruno, and Lisa.

Spirit Description

This exclusive Distillery Edition is crafted from a blend of noble Friulian grape marc, which is distilled in traditional, manually operated steam stills to preserve the fresh aromatics of the harvest. The grappa is then matured in American oak barrels that previously held Oloroso Sherry, a process carried out in the family's own cellars.

• Colour: The spirit displays an intense yellow colour with coppery orange hues.

• Aroma: The nose is complex and fragrant, featuring waxy citrus and Christmas spices alongside enveloping notes of raisins, sweet vanilla, and hazelnuts.

• Palate: It delivers a soft and velvety palate rich with flavours of vanilla, sweet spices, and raisins, balanced by subtle vegetal notes and a pinch of salt.

• Body: This grappa is characterized by a rich and very complex body.

• Finish: It concludes with a nutty and spicy finish, a hallmark of its time in Sherry casks.

• ABV: This edition is bottled at 40%.
