Argiano Rosso Di Montalcino 2023
Produced in the Montalcino region of Tuscany, Italy, Argiano is a viticultural institution with history dating back to 1580. Under the leadership of CEO and winemaker Bernardino Sani, the estate follows a 'Janus-like' philosophy that honours its four-century heritage while embracing organic-regenerative viticulture and minimal-intervention winemaking.
Wine Description
This 100% Sangiovese presents a lively ruby red colour with a sensory profile defined by its freshness and elegance. The nose offers enticing aromas of red cherry, wild berries, and violets, layered with subtle notes of Mediterranean scrub, spice, and a hint of smoke. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and direct, featuring juicy red fruit, saltiness, and a piercing mineral vein. It is well-balanced with integrated, chalky tannins and a clean, lingering finish showing hints of herbs and tobacco.
Food Pairing
The wine's bright acidity and savoury earthiness make it an excellent companion for pasta with tomato-based sauces, roasted meats such as veal or grilled poultry, and aged cheeses. It also pairs exceptionally well with classic Italian bruschetta.
